The upper part is hollowed out of an Aubrac cow horn to hold the head of the mechanism, which is made entirely in France, while the beech wood body is wrapped in black Aubrac cow leather for the pepper mills and gray Aubrac cow leather for the salt mills. Each mill is made unique by the very nature of the horns.
